Turnstone drawing done with inktense pencils. This juvenile bird was feeding on the seaweeds of the newly formed beach near the fishing port in Kuznica. Work inspired by the video footage. What I like about this inktense pencils is the intensity of the colour, they provide.

I made a few drawings for postcards that will be published by Hel Marine Station- my work place. They depict some of the waterbirds that can be found either during wintering, migration or breeding season along the Polish Baltic coast. These are: Common Eider, Shelduck, Sandwich Tern and Ringed Plover.

I have recently made a few studies of Swifts. Sketching birds in flight is a real challenge. Bic pen and ink.

Sketches of different bird species done in the last three or four months. I picked the ones in my sketchbooks that seemed most decent to me. Hope at least some of them are identifiable. You can also find some attempts to depict seascape and fishing vessels. Birds (not in the order listed) are: Swift, Wheatear, Redstart, Whinchat, Willow Warbler, Greenish Warbler (common breeding rarity these days in Poland), Wood Warbler, Black-headed Gull, Greater Black-backed Gull, Common Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull (fuscus and heuglini/graellsii), Mediterranean Gull, Goosander, Red-breasted Merganser, Common Scoter, Long-tailed Duck, Whooper Swan, Eider (young drake), Purple Sandpiper, Whimbrel, Curlew, Cormorant, Red-breasted Flycatcher, Common Flycatcher,White Wagtail, Rook. All of these sketches except for one (Curlew watercolour wax crayons) were painted with Karmanski watercolours. They are not maybe top class, but for my own purposes they suffice.
