Some more field work from the almost past year: Common Gull, Great Crested Grebe, Wigeon, Red-necked Grebe, Brambling, Horned Grebe and Steller's Eider (all watercolour). The latter one definitely the highlight of the last month for me as there are almost none showing up these days along the Polish coast, mainly due to diminishing numbers wintering in the southern Baltic. In the 80's it was a regular winter visitor, less so in the 90's, from 2000's sighted only every 2 or 3 years.

Thursday, 20 February 2014

Recently not really much time for birding , but one way or another I have managed to find some time to visit seaport in Hel (Long-tailed Ducks) and do some window sketching (Common Gulls). I have  added a fountain pen with waterproof ink to my drawing tools, it gives a nice vivid outline.
