Some more work that was done over the weekend, I checked the north eastern part of the Hel Peninsula for waders. The day before in the same place I had found two female/immature Wheatears viewing the area from their barbed wire post. On the way back walking along the open sea, I had some exquisite  views of Bar-tailed Godwits, Red Knots and Sanderlings. The Sanderlings as always were on the run, sometimes they remind me of little snowmen dashing along the edge of surf.

The other day in July while walking along the desolate beaches of Hel Peninsula, I encountered a mixed flock of adult Dunlins and Curlew Sandpipers. The mixture of their bright plumages and seascape remained in my memory, so it was a matter of time that it materialised in some form.

Late summer is always great for watching and sketching waders. Turnstone resting on the breakwater of the fishing harbour in Hel.
